Rexroth Bosch's MS2N03-B0BYN-CSSG1-NNANN-NNA is a synchronous motor , an electric motor that rotates at the same speed as that of the stator generated magnetic field. While in asynchronous, or induction motors, torque is generated by the slip, synchronous motors have no such complexities. The rotor is held by a magnetic attractive force and the rotor rotates at a constant speed. These motors are often used where the speed is important that needs to be regulated accurately, such as in conveyors, robotics, and large machinery.

Synchronous motors operate on the principle of providing direct current (DC) to the rotor that produces a powerful magnetic field.
