Designed to be compatible with Rexroth motor controllers, the MS2N03-B0BYN-CMSH0-NNNNN-GE060N1008AN-NN is a 7.25 kW servo motor that comes with an asynchronous design, where the motor stator runs at a different speed compared to the stator of the motor. This motor is designed to provide a speed of up to 9000 rpm, which not only makes it one of the fastest motor series lined up by Rexroth but also the lightest, considering each motor without a brake weighs approximately 1.2 kg, while with a brake, it weighs only 1.4 kg.
To keep the motor protected against dust and moisture, the MS2N03-B0BYN-CMSH0-NNNNN-GE060N1008AN-NN comes with an IP 64 protection rate that provides a level 6 protection against dust particles of the size of up to 2 mm and scratches up to 0.2 mm deep. It also provides low-level protection against low-pressure water splashes. The motor does not come with a shaft seal ring. To mount this motor, the MS2N03 series comes with a flange type mounting option, with this particular motor design supporting a flange size of 58 mm wide. The motor can be mounted at an altitude but should not exceed 1000 meters from sea level, as it may affect the performance of the motor and cause it to run under derated conditions.
Since this is a servo motor, there must be a way to control the shaft positioning and to know the current position of the shaft. This is done with a multiturn absolute encoder with a resolution of 4097 increments. The encoder also uses the ACURO link digital encoder interface that helps to transmit the position value of the encoder over to the motor controller, as well as transmit the current temperature of the motor with the help of an RTD sensor.
