The MS2M02-A0FNN-KMDL1 is an ultra-compact synchronous servo motor from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the MS2M Ultra Compact Motors series. Designed for tight installation spaces, the unit converts drive controller commands into precise rotary motion for packaging stations, pick-and-place axes, and small assembly tooling in industrial automation. It uses the second frame size to support dynamic motion while keeping the overall footprint small. This format is well suited for machine sections where short motor length helps preserve workspace around tooling and transfer mechanisms.
An optical encoder with 23-bit resolution provides single-turn or multi-turn position data for accurate velocity control and repeatable positioning. The winding is tuned for a base speed of 3000 rpm, and the rotor reaches 6000 rpm while delivering up to 0.48 Nm. Low inertia helps the motor respond quickly during rapid start-and-stop cycles. An electrically released brake operates from 24 V DC and locks the shaft at rest. The control logic uses 4.75 to 5.25 V, and the enclosure is rated IP65 for resistance to dust and low-pressure water jets. Power and feedback connections use an M17 SPEEDCON quick-lock plug, while double metal-shielded lead cables help limit electromagnetic interference. The motor is intended for operation up to 1000 m above sea level, within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 40 °C, and with acoustic output of no more than 65 dB(A).
The motor uses the second frame size with frame length A and mounts on a face with a 38 mm square flange and a 45 mm bolt circle. Its precision-machined spigot measures 30 mm in diameter, and the keyed steel shaft measures 8 mm in diameter by 22 mm in length. No shaft seal is fitted, which reduces friction at high speed. Overall mass is only 0.77 kg, which helps when the motor is installed on moving carriages or other axes with limited payload capacity. The keyed shaft supports secure torque transfer to compact couplings, pulleys, or pinions used on light-duty servo axes.
