Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the MHD093B-058-PP1-BA, a member of the MHD Synchronous Motors series used to convert drive-controller commands into rotational motion for pick-and-place units, packaging axes, and similar equipment. The 093 frame size, B length code, and winding code 058 identify the electromagnetic package used for mid-range continuous-duty tasks. A keyed shaft transfers torque, while a power connector on side B routes phase conductors away from the flange. An integrated digital servo-feedback encoder supplies absolute position information over more than 4096 revolutions so the control loop can maintain accurate registration.

At standstill, the motor can produce 17.5 Nm continuously, allowing gearless coupling to mid-inertia loads. When line power is removed, a holding brake rated at 22.0 Nm clamps the shaft to prevent drift on vertical axes. The enclosure has an IP65 rating, so dust and water jets do not reach the windings or the 130 mm centering pilot on the 140 / 150 mm square flange. Heat generated in the stator is released through natural convection, and Class F insulation supports winding temperatures while the motor operates in ambient air from 0 to 40 °C. A shaft seal is fitted, and the optical measuring method inside the encoder provides absolute feedback without mechanical wear.

The position loop benefits from a mechanical and electrical system accuracy of ±0.5 angular minutes. This accuracy means no additional alignment is normally required after installation. During transport or storage, the unit can be kept within a temperature window of -20 to +80 °C without degrading magnet remanence or encoder optics. In operation, the drive may be mounted at elevations up to 1000 m above mean sea level, allowing use on mezzanines or overhead gantries without derating.
