Product Description

The Bosch MDD115D-N-015-N2M-180PB0 is a servo motor. It is equipped with a multiturn absolute encoder. Multiturn encoders require multiple shaft rotations to make measurements of motor speed and position. The motor sends this information, known as feedback, to a connected servo controller. A dedicated cable is used for feedback transmission. An operator configures the controller with desired motor speed and position values. The controller compares these programmed values with feedback received from the motor. The controller does not change its output if the actual and programmed values are the same. However, a difference in the programmed and actual motor parameter values causes a subsequent change in the controller output. The controller varies its output frequency and voltage to control motor speed and position. The controller also supplies motor power through a dedicated power cable.

The feedback cable and the power cable connect to separate connectors on the motor housing. Both of these connectors on MDD motors are sealed and provide strong protection against dust and moisture. The power connector location can be specified by operators. The power connector on the MDD115D-N-015-N2M-180PB0 motor is on side B of the housing.
