Bosch Rexroth is the designer of the digital AC servo motors of the MDD series used to create rapid-response automation systems with Indramat digital drive controllers. These motors with electronic commutation are used in handling equipment and printing and packaging machines.

The MDD115D-N-015-N2M-180GA0 is a model of the MDD synchronous servo motors featuring digital servo feedback with an integrated multiturn absolute encoder as its motor feedback option. This encoder evaluates the motor’s relative indirect position using the optical measurement method, guaranteeing high-level precision. It has a data storage feature for filing parameters like the motor type name and control loop parameters so that they are set in the drive right after powering up. The encoder’s system accuracy is ±0.5 angular minutes, and it stores the absolute position of the axis even after power is shut down. Thanks to the thermal sensor in the windings of this MDD model, irreversible damage due to thermal overload can be averted.

Because of its high power density, the MDD115D-N-015-N2M-180GA0 is suitable for dynamic applications like roller feeds for punching, pressing, and nibbling machines.
