The MDD112C-N-040-N2L-180GA1 is a digital servo motor. Bosch has designed it for industrial applications. Typical applications of MDD motors include printing machines, packaging machines, robotics and handling equipment. The motor is deployed in combination with a servo controller. The controller supplies electrical power for the motor. The controller also controls motor parameters including speed and position. Features available on the motor include support for digital servo feedback, an optional blocking brake, a plain shaft, standard housing, standard balance class and standard shaft B end. Operators can use the motor with either natural convection or surface cooling. The choice of cooling method depends on load requirements: the motor delivers higher output torque with surface cooling. As per documented motor specifications, the output torque is 44 Nm with surface cooling and 28 Nm with natural convection.

The output current is 91.3 Amps with surface cooling and 58.1 Amps with natural convection. The thermal time constant is 75 minutes with surface cooling and 100 minutes with natural convection.
