Bosch Rexroth’s high-performance MDD digital AC servo motors are used to create rapid-response automation systems with Indramat digital drive controllers. They are compact motors with varying torques, speeds, and sizes. Their applications include printing and packaging machines, handling equipment, and robotics.

The MDD112A-N-015-N2M-130GA0 is a permanent magnet-excited servo motor in Bosch Rexroth’s MDD series. Its rotor has permanent magnets made from unique materials; hence, it has low inertia and a favorable torque-inertia ratio for dynamic applications. This rotor’s moment of inertia is 61 x 10-4 kgm2. The MDD servo motor is equipped with digital servo feedback with an integrated multiturn absolute encoder for the evaluation of its absolute indirect position. Its system accuracy is ±0.5 angular minutes, and its measurement system is optical. With the data storage feature of the encoder where motor parameters are stored, the motor’s startup time is reduced. The encoder also eliminates the need for a separate absolute encoder.

Facilitating the maintenance-free operation of the MDD112A-N-015-N2M-130GA0 is its brushless design and lifetime-lubricated bearings. These bearings have a nominal service life of 30,000 operating hours. The servo motor’s design allows the application of high radial loads; hence, it permits the direct attachment of pinions and belt pulleys to the shaft. Its shaft is the plain type with a sealing ring. It provides a non-positive shaft-hub connection with zero backlash, while the sealing ring prevents fluids from penetrating through the shaft.
