The compact digital AC servo motors form rapid-response systems with Indramat digital drive controllers. They are commonly used in textile machines, handling equipment, and robotics.

The MDD090C-N-020-N2L-110PB2 is one of Bosch Rexroth’s MDD servo motors. It is best suited for applications where high-level precision and synchronism are required, such as grinding machines. Its nominal speed is 2,000 revolutions per minute, and it can accommodate a maximum current of 72.9A. The motor’s housing is sealed and coated in a black prime varnish that is resistant to weathering, chalky buildup, yellowing, and lyes. It also supports cooling by natural convection and surface cooling, allowing extreme loads such as continuous start-stop operations with high repetition rates. Its IP 65 Ingress Protection rating per EN 60529 indicates that it cannot be penetrated by solid external objects or multidirectional water jet sprays.

The encoder’s system accuracy is ±0.5 angular minutes, and it is equipped with a data memory. This data memory ensures that the motor adapts safely to its drive converter because it stores its type name and other relevant parameters. Additionally, it reduces the time required for the motor to boot up. Due to the permanent magnet materials used in the rotor of this MDD model, it has inertia and favorable torque-inertia ratio for high dynamics.
