Product Description
Bosch Rexroth’s MDD motors are servo motors with extensive functionality. They are digital AC servo motors that guarantee high contouring accuracies at high feed rates, especially when used for cutting in high speed ranges. Drives with these motors are used in robotics, machine tools, etc.
The MDD090C-N-020-N2L-110PA1 is an MDD motor model fitted with an output shaft with a keyway. Like other motors in the series, this shaft comes with a sealing ring to ensure that no liquids enter the housing through the shaft. The motor housing is sealed and IP 65-rated per EN 60529, indicating that it is touch-proof, dust-proof, and impenetrable by water jet sprays from different directions. It is coated with a black prime coat with impressive resistance to yellowing, weathering, chalky buildup, and dilute acids. The compact build of this MDD model gives it a high power-to-weight ratio and simplifies its installation. It has a brushless design and bearing that remains lubricated throughout its service life, allowing the motor to be operated maintenance-free.
Rare earth and iron oxide materials are used in the construction of the rotor of the MDD090C-N-020-N2L-110PA1, giving it low inertia and a favorable torque-inertia ratio. The moment of inertia of this rotor is 53 x 10-4 kgm2. This MDD motor is equipped with a sensitive thermal sensor that monitors its temperature and prevents damage due to thermal overload. It is cooled by surface cooling and natural convection, a heat dissipation mechanism where temperature differences facilitate heat exchange with the ambient air. Its nominal speed is 2,000 revolutions per minute, and its centering diameter is 110mm. The integrated encoder system in the motor is digital servo feedback.
