Bosch Rexroth’s MDD digital AC servo motors are permanent magnet-excited synchronous motors with magnets made of rare earth or iron oxide magnetic materials. They have electric commutation, which gives a high cyclic load capacity and makes them suitable for continuous start-stop operations. These motors guarantee high contouring accuracies at high feed rates, especially when used for cutting at high-speed ranges. They are suitable for several functions, including machine tools, textiles machines, printing and packaging machines, robotics, handling equipment, and transfer facilities.

The MDD090C-N-020-N2L-110GB1 is specifically used in high-precision operations where an extreme degree of synchronism is required, such as grinding machines. The motor has a high overload capability due to efficient heat conduction from the stator windings to the outside wall of its housing. Its housing protects it against contact with high voltage with motor parts either moving or alive (contact guards). The penetration of the motor by solid extrinsic objects and water is also prevented; hence, its Ingress Protection rating is IP 65. In addition, the housing is painted with a black prime coating which is resistant to weathering, yellowing, chalky build-ups, diluted acids, and lyes.

The motor feedback of the MDD090C-N-020-N2L-110GB1 is digital servo feedback, and it is used to evaluate the position and speed of the motor and to detect the rotor position. This motor can be installed in any position, and it is delivered with ready-made cables, which also reduces the effort required during installation.
