MAC112D-1-ED-1-B/130-B-2/I01000/S018 is a servo motor. It is made by Bosch for industrial applications. The motor supports tacho feedback via an integrated tacho generator. A motor controller connected to the motor via a feedback cable receives real time feedback from the motor. The program running on the controller compares real time speed and position feedback with desired values configured during system commissioning. Any deviation between measured and configured values leads to a corresponding change in the controller output to minimize the difference. This is an example of closed loop feedback which is used for applications with stringent requirements for accuracy and precision. MAC motors can be used in combination with Bosch motors controllers from the TDM, DSC and KDS product lines. MAC motors have a brushless design.
Instead of carbon brushes, solid state electronic circuits are used for commutation. Carbon brushes on brushed motors require frequent replacement. In addition, sparking that occurs during motor operation due to the carbon brushes renders these motors unusable in environments with explosive atmospheres. In contrast, brushless motors, such as those from the MAC produce line, are relatively maintenance-free and can be used in a wide range of operating environments. The MAC112D-1-ED-1-B/130-B-2/I01000/S018 motor comes with an axial cooling fan that requires 230 Volts AC external power.
