The MAC112D-0-ED-4-C/180-A-2/AM164SG is a brushless servo motor in the MAC series designed and manufactured by Bosch Rexroth. It is equipped with thermo switches in its windings for monitoring its temperature. This temperature monitoring system initiates mechanisms that protect the motor from irreversible damage due to thermal overload. The servo motor is cooled via natural convection and is designed to efficiently dissipate heat from the stator windings to the outside walls of its housing. As an electronically commutated motor, the MAC model is suitable for continuous start-stop operations with high repetition rates. This is due to its high cyclic load capacity, a feature that prevents failure due to fatigue after repeated stress cycles.
To ensure its maintenance-free operation, the MAC112D-0-ED-4-C/180-A-2/AM164SG is fitted with bearings that remain lubricated throughout their service life. These bearings reduce downtime since there is no need for relubrication, and the accidental use of contaminating lubricants can be averted. A black prime coating is painted onto the housing of the MAC model, protecting it from weathering, yellowing, and chalky buildup. It is also resistant to dilute acids and lyes. Its heavy-duty blocking brake has a holding torque of 60Nm and holds the servo axes when the machine is powered off using the closed-circuit principle. The motor’s rotor features permanent magnets built from rare-earth materials to give it a low inertia and favorable torque-inertia ratio for a highly dynamic performance.
