Product Description:

Rexroth Bosch's MAC112C-0-HD-4-C/130-A-0/S005 motor has a tachofeedback system with the mounted incremental or absolute encoder. It is used for continual speed determination and transmission of signals to the controller. This feedback system makes it possible for the motor to keep uniform speed and performance even when operating under varying loads. Tachofeedback also provides the motor with the feedback necessary to make dynamic changes, and therefore it is ideal for use in applications where precise speed control is required.

An incremental or absolute encoder offers information about the position and speed of the rotor. Relative changes in position are measured by how often pulses are generated by an incremental encoder as the motor turns. Absolute encoders provide the current position of the motor shaft making it very useful when power is switched off.

To ensure that the motor is working properly, first conduct a safety check; look for signs of poor connection, or misalignment. Electrical tests should follow, in which a multimeter will show that the motor is properly wired and does not show any irregularity. Looking at the feedback signals of the tachofeedback system as well as of any mounted encoder is essential; an oscilloscope or other tools can determine signal correctness. A performance check should reveal that under load, the motor can be operated at 2000 RPM or higher. Also, thermal protection needs to be retained to avoid damage due to excessive temperature; and ensure that the motor can work under the maximum threshold temperature. These checks should be conducted on a routine basis to eliminate the possibility of a breakdown, and to provide the efficiency to the motor that is vital in industrial operations.
