The MAC093C-1-DS-3-C/110-A-1 is a simple design 4000 rpm motor, part of the MAC093 series of motors from Rexroth Indramat. This AC motor is designed to be used in CNC mills where such motors are attached to the spindle and, with the help of a drill bit, the motor is used for making various types of designs on wood and metal. With such heavy power-dissipating tasks, the MAC093C-1-DS-3-C/110-A-1 features an Axial fan that helps it cool down over time.
The MAC093C-1-DS-3-C/110-A-1 features a tacho feedback system. What this feedback system does is it generates a proportional voltage of 1.5 volts for every 1000 rotations achieved by the motor in a minute. The control system then uses the voltage generated and translates it to speed, which is then used to regulate the speed based on the set point set by the user. This tacho feedback system is also used as a safety precaution to prevent the motor from going off limits and potentially causing damages or even accidents.
This motor has an IP 65 rated design which helps protect it in harsh industrial setups, safeguarding it against dust and pressure water jets. The motor can sustain a maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius and can be stored in an environment with a temperature between -10 degrees Celsius and 80 degrees Celsius when not in use. The motor has an altitude rating of up to 1000 meters above sea level, as anything higher than this would severely affect the cooling of the motor. This is because the density of the air decreases with an increase in altitude, leading to overheating of the motor and affecting its performance.
