For most MAC AC motors by Rexroth, the holding brake serves as a hold-only brake. Brakes of this type lock the rotor in a fixed position when the rotor speed is zero. In some cases, brakes of this type can also stop a running motor if the stopping energy does not exceed the brake's maximum allowable energy. In some cases, however, a heavy-duty brake may optionally come with Rexroth’s MAC motors. These heavy-duty brakes are sufficient for halting the rotor even at higher running speeds. The MAC092B-0-QD-4-C/095-B-2/WI515LV/S013 is a specific product by Rexroth that features a heavy-duty blocking brake.
When allowed to operate without loads attached, the nominal rotor speed of the MAC092B-0-QD-4-C/095-B-2/WI515LV/S013 is 2000 rpm. During this condition, the motor draws the rated current to transmit the rated torque and power. At the motor’s stall condition, the current draw increases to 11.9 amperes, while the torque output increases to 7.2 Nm. The maximum holding torque of this motor’s brake is 14 Nm.
