Product Description:

Considered to be one of Rexroth’s most efficient motor classes, the MAC motor series is desirable for a wide range of industrial applications. Commonly interfaced and integrated for packaging, printing, and handling equipment, the MAC AC motors by Rexroth offer versatile speed and torque operating points. These MAC motors may optionally come with a holding brake that provides stable position control in locked-rotor or de-energized conditions. From this motor series, the MAC092B-0-QD-4-C/095-B-1/WA604XX originated. The MAC092B-0-QD-4-C/095-B-1/WA604XX is a MAC AC motor containing a standard blocking brake and a 95-mm pilot diameter.

During the standstill condition, when the rotor fixes at a stationary position, the motor parameters are 7.2 Nm and 11.9 A. Engineers usually perform the locked-rotor test to determine these vital parameters for sizing the protection system. For instance, the appropriate motor circuit breaker is usually determined based on the standstill current during the locked-rotor test. The stall parameters are usually higher than the nominal motor parameters. When the rotor freely rotates in a no-load condition, this motor model reaches a speed of 2000 rpm. Depending on the application, however, the motor may still be operated to maximize either the motor speed or torque. Specifically, the MAC092B-0-QD-4-C/095-B-1/WA604XX has a peak torque of 10.5 Nm and a peak current of 17.4 A.

For impedance-related calculations, Rexroth’s manual provides the winding resistance and inductance of the MAC092B-0-QD-4-C/095-B-1/WA604XX to be 0.97 ohms and 5.1 mH. The motor impedance is simply the magnitude of the vector sum of the winding resistance and reactance. The motor reactance is a function of the system frequency and the motor winding inductance. For kinetic energy calculations, another useful parameter provided in Rexroth’s manual is the rotor moment of inertia, equal to 0.0036 kg (m^2).
