The motor is touch-proof, dustproof, and impervious to water jets from different directions. Its housing is painted with a black prime varnish whose protective properties are effective against yellowing, weathering, and chalky buildup. There is also a standard blocking brake of 6.5 Nm torque in the motor to hold the servo axes backlash-free when the machine is powered off.
