MAC063D-0-JS-4-C/095-B-1/WA612XX is a servo motor from Bosch Rexroth’s MAC product line. Specifically it belongs to the MAC063 series. The motor supports several features that make it an ideal choice for a range of applications. Its IP65 rated enclosed housing provides robust protection from dust and low-pressure water jets. The motor is designed for 0 to 45 degrees Celsius ambient temperature. Motor use outside this range leads to degradation in motor performance. According to the product manual, the site elevation should be between 0 and 1000 meters. Motor use outside these values also leads to output derating. The output is degraded by a much higher magnitude if both the temperature and elevation exceed specified limits simultaneously. Speed rating of the servo motor is 3500 RPM. Other motor features include a smooth shaft, tacho generator and a 3 Nm blocking brake.
The blocking brake belongs to the class of electrically-released brakes and operates when a 24 Volts DC release signal is applied. The brake’s release delay, the time taken to disengage or release after a command or signal is given, is 30 milliseconds. The brake’s clamping delay, the time required to clamp or hold the shaft after the requisite signal is applied, is 15 milliseconds. Bosch has designed the MAC063D-0-JS-4-C/095-B-1/WA612XX motor for convection cooling. Therefore operators must ensure proper spacing around the motor. Failure to ensure proper ventilation can lead to excessively high ambient temperatures that can affect motor operation and lead to its failure. The location of the power plug is on side B of the motor. The power connector must be ordered separately. The motor supports tacho feedback for speed and position measurement. It is equipped with a standard tacho generator.
