Internal Product Review
The KDV 4.1-30-3 is a Bosch Rexroth Indramat supply module engineered for stable DC bus support with 30 kW link continuous power and 320 VDC link circuit voltage. Peak handling is impressive, with 48 kW 0.3 s peak power and 40 kW bleeder peak power supporting demanding drive events. Strong electrical performance and clean power delivery make the module a very capable choice for high-demand motion systems.

Product Description:
The KDV 4.1-30-3 is a supply module from Bosch Rexroth Indramat’s KDV Supply Modules series. Mounted in DIAX multi-axis drive cabinets, it rectifies three-phase mains power to a stabilized DC link and provides the low-voltage rails needed by the associated control electronics. The shared bus lets regenerative energy flow between axes, so external braking resistors are smaller and overall efficiency rises in machining, packaging, or printing lines. Acting as the electrical backbone rather than a motion controller, it returns excess kinetic energy to the mains whenever connected drives decelerate.
At nominal line conditions, the module draws a three-phase 380 V input of 77 A, rectifying it to a DC bus held at 320 VDC. That bus can deliver a continuous 30 kW to connected drives, while a short-duration demand of 48 kW is possible for 0.3 s to cover acceleration peaks. Up to 100 kWs of regenerative energy can be buffered in the link, and it can return 20 kW of feedback power to the supply. When braking exceeds the buffer, an internal bleeder dissipates 40 kW of heat, and a 500 VA auxiliary input feeds cabinet logic. The unit also supplies 24 V and electronics rails, rated at 11.5 A and 2.2 A respectively, so control cards remain energized even when the drives are idle.
Mechanical loading on the DC link is expressed as drive output. The module supports 40 kW of mechanical peak power and a nominal 24 kW during continuous motion sequences. Its +24 V rail can source 11.5 A, allowing valve terminals and sensors to be powered from the same supply frame. Cabinet heat dissipation is split: 150 W remains inside the enclosure, whereas 500 W is exhausted by the external heat sink, figures that guide airflow planning. The design specifies a 4 mF bus capacitor bank for energy smoothing, and the assembly’s 21 kg mass assists vibration damping once bolted to the panel.
