The KDV 1.3-100-220/300-W1/S100 is a regulated power supply module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the KDV Supply Modules series. In a multi-axis automation cabinet, the module converts three-phase mains power into a stabilized DC bus that feeds coordinated drive controllers and servo inverters, allowing synchronized motion profiles without individual rectifiers. The unit also incorporates regenerative energy handling and internal bleeder circuitry so that deceleration energy from connected motors is absorbed rather than returned to the plant mains. This arrangement helps keep the power stage centralized and supports cleaner cabinet integration in handling, packaging, and machining lines.

On the input side, the module accepts a three-phase mains feed of 220 V AC. The power section is designed to remain in its rated operating range even when the network varies by ±15%, a tolerance that helps shield downstream drives from common plant voltage swings. Line frequency compatibility is fixed at 60 Hz, so phase-locked rectification keeps ripple predictable for North American installations. The supply can process up to 30 kVA of apparent power, and its bus link is rated for a continuous current of 100 A. This allows it to energize several medium-frame servo axes at the same time without exceeding thermal limits during normal operation.

After rectification and smoothing, the internal capacitors present a stabilized link of 300 V DC. Excess kinetic energy is dissipated through a bleeder resistor that handles 2 kW continuously and can absorb short braking bursts of 40 kW to protect the bus from overvoltage trips. During rapid torque reversals, the system can deliver up to 300 A for 300 milliseconds, giving the axes the surge current needed for acceleration and deceleration. An estimated 150 W of resultant heat must be removed by panel ventilation to maintain the published operating profile and keep internal temperatures under control during sustained duty.
