Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the KDV 1.3-100-220-300-W1-220-380 supply module, a power front end in the KDV Supply Modules series. It converts three-phase mains energy into a regulated DC bus, supporting coordinated servo axes and shunt braking within industrial automation cells. Its role is to stabilize the intermediate circuit, supply low-voltage logic power, and absorb regenerative peaks so machine tools, packaging stations, and material-handling lines maintain predictable motion. By combining line conversion and energy-handling functions in one unit, it supports drive systems that must keep bus conditions stable during changing load demands.

The module accepts a line supply of 220 VAC and is specified for a continuous input of 100 A, yielding a power throughput of 30 kW. Its rectifier and capacitor bank establish a link voltage of 300 VDC that feeds the drives. During rapid acceleration or regeneration, it can source or sink up to 300 A for 300 ms without loss of regulation. A built-in resistor stack handles dissipative braking with 2 kW of continuous thermal capacity, while auxiliary power taps provide separate output for control electronics and internal ventilation fans. The 24 V logic rail can supply external sensors, and the available bus feedback capacity allows the unit to absorb returned energy from decelerating axes before shutdown protection intervenes. This arrangement supports multi-axis systems in which the supply section must manage both continuous demand and short-duration energy peaks.

For high-duty cycles, the bleeder network absorbs transient energy bursts up to 40 kW, helping keep the DC link stable when drives decelerate heavy loads. The housing has a protection rating of IP10 and must therefore be installed inside a filtered cabinet, while the vented construction still supports airflow through the enclosure. Operation is allowed in ambient air up to 55 °C and at installation heights up to 1000 m without derating. Panel brackets can support the 21 kg unit, so the module can be mounted directly in a control cabinet. The stated thermal, mounting, and enclosure conditions suit fixed industrial installations where the power section is protected by the surrounding cabinet structure.
