The KDV 1.3-100-220-300-U1 is a supply module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the KDV Supply Modules series. It converts three-phase mains power into a stabilized DC link that feeds multiple drive controllers, letting motion axes share a common energy source and braking resistor. In an automation cabinet, the unit provides the backbone for coordinated servo drives, and its integrated bleeder circuitry dissipates regenerative energy that returns from decelerating loads.

The module delivers a continuous output of 30 kW to the DC bus while accepting a primary input of 3 x 220 VAC. Inside, a rectifier and smoothing capacitors establish a bus voltage of 300 VDC, and the power section is rated for 100 A of steady current. For excess kinetic energy, the internal resistor handles 2 kW continuously, preventing overvoltage without needing an external brake chopper. A separate single-phase line of 115 VAC powers control electronics and charging circuits, and a 24 V rail can source 8 A for relay coils or sensors. Auxiliary consumption of 500 VA and a 15 VA draw for cabinet ventilation must be included in panel load calculations. Nominal operation dissipates 150 W as heat, guiding enclosure airflow design. The 21 kg chassis mounts vertically to keep convection paths clear.

During rapid stops, the bleeder can absorb peaks up to 40 kW, and the power stage supplies up to 300 A for brief acceleration surges. The capacitor bank can store a maximum feedback energy of 60 kWs before the resistor engages. Ambient operation is permitted up to 55 °C without derating, and above this temperature the cabinet must be cooled. Installation altitude is limited to 1000 m to maintain dielectric spacing and fan performance. When mains power is lost, the DC link remains charged long enough for drives to execute controlled shutdowns that support machine safety sequences.
