The KDV 1.3-100-220/300-115V is a supply module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the KDV Supply Modules series. In an automation cabinet, it converts incoming three-phase line power into a stabilized DC bus so that multiple servo drives receive the energy and auxiliary 24 V logic power needed for coordinated motion sequences. By integrating line rectification, bus charging, and regenerative dissipation in one assembly, the unit simplifies power distribution for grouped drive axes. This arrangement also allows several connected drives to share one common power source during synchronized machine movement.

This module accepts a nominal line of 220 V AC and can deliver a continuous output of 100 A onto the shared rails. Once rectified, the internal capacitors maintain a bus level of 300 V DC, which serves as the reference voltage for connected inverters. The internal transformer and heat sinks support a power rating of 30 kW, allowing machines with moderate total spindle and feed demand to run from a single source. Short acceleration bursts are handled by a peak current of 300 A for 300 ms without tripping the protective circuitry. To limit bus overvoltage during motor braking, the built-in bleeder resistor can absorb 2 kW continuously. This keeps returned energy from raising the DC bus beyond its normal operating range. A separate 24 V output provides 8 A for controller electronics, contactors, and sensor rails, removing the need for an external logic supply.

During emergency deceleration, the resistor tolerates a surge of 40 kW so kinetic energy is safely dumped instead of being returned to the line. The capacitors and resistor bank can accept up to 60 kWs of feedback energy before the monitoring circuit intervenes. Thermal modeling shows 150 W of heat remains inside the enclosure while 2000 W is expelled to the surrounding air, so cabinet ventilation must remove most of the operating heat load. Without field wiring and coolant plates, the unit weighs 21 kg, which provides a stable installed assembly while keeping handling manageable during mounting.
