The KDV 1.3-100-115V supply module is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the KDV Supply Modules series. Installed in control cabinets, it rectifies incoming mains power, maintains a common DC link, and provides auxiliary voltages that keep drive controllers energized. The unit also houses an energy-dissipating resistor so regenerated motor energy can be converted to heat instead of raising DC bus voltage, protecting axes in automated machinery.
During operation, the module draws a rated line current of 100 A from a single-phase input of 220 VAC and converts it into a stabilized link voltage of 300 VDC for the attached drives. Load surges are handled by a peak current capability of 300 A, allowing acceleration without tripping feeders. The built-in bleeder resistor can continuously absorb 2 kW of regenerative power and can tolerate up to 40 kW during braking events, limiting voltage rise on the DC bus. An independent control supply of 115/220 VAC powers internal logic, while a 115 VAC fan circuit rated at 15 VA maintains airflow. A 500 VA auxiliary winding and a dedicated +15 V rail delivering 1.5 A support encoder interfaces, PLC I/O, and other peripheral loads.
For low-voltage field devices, the unit supplies a 24 V rail that can deliver 8 A, eliminating the need for a separate supply in the cabinet. Internal conduction and switching generate only 150 W of cabinet power loss, while external braking resistors may be added within the permitted total dissipation limit. The energy storage and bleeder combination can accept up to 60 kWs of feedback energy, which helps the module handle repeated emergency stops without overstressing the DC bus capacitors. The module is suitable for use with multiple axis drives in packaging lines, printing presses, or material-handling systems.
