The KDF3.3-150-300-W1/220 is a variable frequency drive from the KDF Variable Frequency Drives series. As an adjustable-speed AC controller, it converts fixed mains power into regulated output so induction or synchronous motors can match process requirements in automated lines, conveyors, and machine tools. It is part of the modular KDF platform, allowing coordinated operation with Indramat supply modules and braking choppers inside a control cabinet. The controller is intended for cabinet installation, where its power stage can regulate motor speed and torque in response to changing load conditions.

This drive supplies a continuous output of 90 A, which is the motor current limit before thermal protection activates. Internal fans move 36 l/s of cooling air, and that airflow must be maintained by keeping 80 mm of clearance next to the heat sink and limiting excess pressure to 50 Pa inside the enclosure. The housing carries an ingress protection rating of IP10, so it blocks contact with large solid objects while leaving ventilation openings unobstructed. Electronic logic is powered by an auxiliary +24 V rail that can deliver 1.6 A to external sensors. Analog feedback circuits draw a ±15 V measuring current of 160 mA for encoder or tachometer evaluation. Reliable operation is permitted up to an ambient temperature of 55 °C, after which the power stage must be derated.

The drive can be mounted at sites up to 1000 m above sea level without output reduction. Its aluminum chassis weighs 17.4 kg, so the mounting panel must support the unit securely during operation. For protective earth bonding, the required minimum ground conductor cross-section is 10 mm². Humidity resistance is graded at class F, which supports operation in areas with elevated moisture during repeated stop-start cycles. Cable size, cabinet airflow, and mounting location should follow these limits.
