The KDA 3.3-100-3-LP0-U1 is a spindle drive produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the KDA Spindle Drives series. Designed for numerically controlled machining centers, it forms the power stage between the facility’s DC link and the high-speed spindle motor. The device interprets cyclic speed commands from the motion controller, shapes three-phase output currents in real time, and monitors encoder signals to maintain shaft accuracy during cutting, drilling, or grinding cycles. Integrated thermal management and feedback resources reduce external components and simplify system integration.
Its heat sink blower is energized from an auxiliary supply rated at 115 V/50–60 Hz, separating cooling demand from the main power path. The drive connects to a common bus that carries 300 VDC and, at that voltage, it furnishes up to 100 A of continuous armature current to the spindle windings. A mounted heat sink blower, coupled with actively directed airflow in forced cooling mode, removes the losses generated at full load.
