Product Description:
The KDA 3.3-100-3-DP0-U1 is a spindle drive produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the KDA Spindle Drives series. As a closed-loop power module, it converts DC-link energy from a compatible supply unit into a controlled three-phase output for high-speed spindle motors. This allows the drive to support rotational accuracy, stable torque, and fast acceleration in machine tools and grinding systems. The closed-loop design also lets the controller correct speed deviations under changing load, which is important in cutting and grinding processes.
The drive draws its DC-link power from a 300 VDC supply and can deliver up to 100 A of continuous output current to the spindle motor. Speed is commanded through a 16-bit digital parallel interface, allowing the control system to send absolute speed values without the drift associated with analog signals. Thermal energy from the power stage is removed by a heatsink blower powered by 115 V at 50/60 Hz, and the unit uses forced cooling to keep the power electronics within their operating range. A second encoder socket can accept differential feedback signals for spindle orientation or an additional motor axis. The unit is Series 3, and its diagnostic code and parameter structure follow that generation.
The unit can operate at ambient temperatures from 5 to 45 °C, and installation altitude can reach 1000 m above sea level before derating is required. The cooling assembly uses a heatsink-mounted blower, so the cabinet does not need separate ducting for the drive itself. The unit comes without an additional interface option, so extra communication expansion hardware is not included. Cabinet airflow and auxiliary power must match those operating conditions, and the operating range is intended for indoor industrial installations with controlled ventilation.
