The KDA 3.3-100-3-APD-U1 spindle drive is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the KDA Spindle Drives series. It is designed to translate controller commands into three-phase power that regulates high-speed machine-tool spindles, allowing precise velocity and torque control in automated milling, drilling, and grinding cells. Model designator “3” identifies the third release within the series, and its internal circuitry is optimized for operation from a common DC bus in multi-axis systems.
The power section accepts a bus voltage of 300 VDC and can deliver a continuous output of 100 A to the connected spindle motor. Thermal stability is maintained through Forced Cooling; this mode drives air across the heat sink so full current is available without derating. The integral blower is supplied from an auxiliary source rated at 115V/50-60Hz, isolating fan load from the main DC path.
