Product Description:

The KDA 3.3-050-3-DPD-U1 is a modular control drive that uses forced cooling with an integrated blower. It supports a rated current of 50 A and its continuous current capacity is 35 A. This drive consumes 1.2 A from +24 V control voltage and its electronics measurement requires ±15 V with 160 mA consumption.

The KDA 3.3-050-3-DPD-U1 drive features digital control inputs via 16-bit parallel interface for speed and position. Its position control input is isolated and designed for noise immunity. The drive includes support for spindle feedback, second motor and synchronous feedback. Its terminal layout follows standard designations and it ensures compatibility with various feedback and control systems. This KDA 3.3 drive offers X1 terminal for power connections and DC link, while the X2 interface is 37-pin and connects to NC controls. Its X3 interface is a 15-pin feedback input for motor feedback, X4 terminal supports analog 9-pin, digital 25-pin and optional SERCOS (fiber optic) input types. The X5 point is a 15-pin additional encoder input and the X5a interface provides synchronous input for master spindle feedback. The unit’s X6 interface supports digital position command through 25-pin interface and optional RS-232-C serial communication is supported as well. Its terminal block X8 provides AC power of 115 VAC to the heatsink blower. The drive supports grounding and motor NTC thermistor terminals for safety. It is classified under IP10 for protection as per DIN 40 050.

The KDA 3.3-050-3-DPD-U1 drive weighs approximately 16.6 kg and it supports a mechanical mounting kit of 1.7 kg, while the attached blower unit has a weight of 4.2 kg. Its power output stage includes integrated overload and short-circuit protection. The unit’s speed setpoint interface accepts external control from CNC or PLC systems and it uses TTL logic levels to support real-time data exchange.

Frequently Asked Questions about KDA 3.3-050-3-DPD-U1:

Q: Why is a 16-bit parallel interface advantageous in the KDA 3.3-050-3-DPD-U1?

A: It enables high-resolution speed and position commands, improving motion smoothness. The wide data path also reduces latency compared to serial command input.

Q: What is the benefit of having isolated position-control input in the KDA 3.3-050-3-DPD-U1?

A: The isolation protects the sensitive control electronics from voltage spikes or ground loops. It ensures signal integrity even in electrically noisy industrial environments.

Q: How does the RS-232-C option on the KDA 3.3-050-3-DPD-U1 benefit diagnostics?

A: The RS-232 offers a simple serial channel to monitor drive status and fault codes. It enables easy local setup or troubleshooting without complex fieldbus systems.

Q: What role does the motor NTC input play in the KDA 3.3-050-3-DPD-U1?

A: The NTC thermistor connection monitors motor winding temperature in real time. It allows the drive to preemptively reduce power or trigger alarm if overheating occurs.

Q: How does TTL-level speed setpoint compatibility help in the KDA 3.3-050-3-DPD-U1?

A: TTL logic ensures fast, low-voltage command reception from PLCs or CNC controllers. It reduces interface complexity while maintaining responsiveness for precise control.
