Product Description:
KDA 3.2-150-3-DPD-W1 is an industrial spindle drive. It is part of Bosch Rexroth’s KDA product line. KDA drives can deliver 3 to 22 kilowatts to a connected motor. An onboard microcomputer performs monitoring, diagnostics, and control. The drive can be used for motor speed and position control. Multiple drive units can be mounted in a single control enclosure for multi-axis control. Drives with mounted heat sinks allow use of enclosures without internal cooling units. The cool air inlet is located at the top of the drive unit. Heated air exits via the rear when a blower mounted below the heat sink forces it out of the designated exit to improve cooling. Mounting orientation of KDA drive units is vertical. The slot for the AS 3 programming module is at the right side near the top of the front panel.
The motor thermistor connection and terminal block for the DC bus and motor are located to the left of the programming module slot. The NC control interface is located below the programming module slot. The feedback interface is right below the NC control interface. Connections for the drive blower are near the bottom side of the front panel. Rated output of the KDA 3.2-150-3-DPD-W1 spindle drive is 150 Amps and its continuous output is 90 Amps. The DC bus on the unit is rated for 300 Volts. Speed commands can be sent to the drive via a 16-bit parallel connection. Options available on the drive include an additional encoder input for motor for spindle feedback and a 16-bit parallel auxiliary interface for command values. Heat sink blower on the KDA 3.2-150-3-DPD-W1 drive requires AC input at 220 Volts.
