Bosch Rexroth Indramat builds the KDA 3.2-100-3-DY0-W1 for machine-tool applications that need direct spindle regulation. Part of the KDA Spindle Drives series, this drive converts a constant intermediate-circuit voltage into three-phase output for high-speed motor operation. In an automation cell, it provides closed-loop speed and torque control so the spindle follows controller commands during cutting, drilling, or grinding cycles. It is intended for spindle axes that must accelerate smoothly, hold commanded speed under varying cut conditions, and respond quickly to control changes.
The power section is supplied from a 300 VDC link and can deliver up to 100 A of continuous current to the motor. This current capacity supports sustained spindle duty in demanding machine cycles. Heat produced by switching elements is removed by a heat sink that relies on forced cooling; the integral blower receives 220 V AC at 50–60 Hz.
