The KDA 3.2-100-3-A00-W1-220 spindle drive is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the KDA Spindle Drives series. It works as the closed-loop power stage between a DC supply and a machine-tool spindle motor, allowing precise speed and torque control during milling, turning, and grinding processes. In automated equipment, it converts commanded setpoints into regulated motor current so the spindle can accelerate, decelerate, and hold a stable operating speed under varying load. When paired with compatible Indramat power supplies and feedback modules, the unit serves as the controller for a single spindle axis.

This version takes its DC bus from a power supply rated at 300 VDC and can deliver up to 100 A of continuous armature current to the motor windings. A mounted heat sink blower powered by a separate auxiliary line of 220 V/50–60 Hz moves air across the fins to remove transistor and snubber heat during operation.
