Product Description:

KDA 3.2-050-3-LP0-U1 is a Bosch spindle drive with a SERCOS speed command interface. SERCOS is a real-time digital communication protocol used primarily for industrial automation, especially in motion control systems. It uses fiber optics as the transmission medium with 2/4/8 Mbps transmission rates. Standardized profiles allow use of SERCOS for communication between devices from different vendors. The drive also features an auxiliary encoder input for a spindle or second servo motor feedback. KDA drives can be ordered with an auxiliary interface. However, this drive is not equipped with this option. The drive is forced-cooled by a blower attached to the heat sink. The heat sink for KDA drives mounts outside the drive enclosure. This design offers multiple benefits, including allowing use of more compact enclosures that do not require internal cooling.

Power supply options for the blower include 115 and 220 Volts AC. The blower on the KDA 3.2-050-3-LP0-U1 drive requires 115 Volts AC input. Optimal ambient conditions for drive operation include 0 to 1000 meters site altitude and 5 to 45 ⁰C temperature. Under optimal conditions, the rated output of the KDA 3.2-050-3-LP0-U1 drive unit is 50 Amps. Continuous output of the drive is 35 Amps. Bosch does permit KDA drive use at ambient temperatures of up to 55 ⁰C and elevations of up to 5000 meters. Protection class of the drive is IP10. All the power and feedback connections are located at the front side of the unit. The rating plate is also located at the front side. KDA drives are microprocessor controlled devices. Software for the drives and their operating parameters are stored in a programming module that installs at the front.
