KDA 3.2-050-3-L0S-U1 is a spindle drive that is designed for demanding industrial applications. It is optimized for control of servo motors from Bosch Rexroth’s 1MB and 2AD series. The drive has a modular design with a replaceable programing module and slots for an encoder input module and an auxiliary interface. Modular drives offer numerous advantages for industrial applications, particularly in systems that require flexibility, scalability, and ease of maintenance. They can be configured to suit different application needs. Parts can be replaced without shutting down the system. Modular drives enable a lower initial investment by allowing operators to buy the modules needed immediately and expand later as required. Rated output of the KDA 3.2-050-3-L0S-U1 drive is 50 Amps. It is a surface-cooled unit with a heat sink blower that increases airflow over the heat sink to aid heat dissipation.
The heat sink mounts at the rear and outside the control enclosure. This allows use of compact enclosures that don’t need internal cooling units. The blower installed on the drive is rated for 115 Volts AC. If required, operators can order blowers for KDA drives that are rated for 220 Volts. The KDA 3.2-050-3-L0S-U1 drive features a SERCOS interface for speed command inputs and an RS-232C auxiliary interface. There is no optional encoder input module installed. The AS 3 programing module installs in its designated slot at the front of the unit. The terminal block for the DC bus and the motor are located at top side on the front panel. The blower bus connection is at the bottom of the front panel. Optimal performance requires 5 to 45 ⁰C ambient temperature and elevations below 1000 meters.
