The KDA 3.2-050-3-DPD-W1 spindle drive is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the KDA Spindle Drives series. It converts a shared DC bus into controlled three-phase power so that CNC systems can command high-speed machine-tool spindles with precise torque and velocity profiles. By combining power electronics, signal processing, and dedicated feedback channels, the drive forms the link between the motion controller and the rotating tool, keeping spindle speed synchronized with machining instructions throughout automated production cycles. This arrangement helps the controller maintain commanded speed during acceleration, deceleration, and changing cutting loads.
To deliver consistent performance, the power stage operates from a DC link of 300 VDC and provides a continuous output of 50 A to the motor windings. Heat is removed through a mounted heat sink blower, and this blower is energized by an auxiliary supply of 220 V at 50/60 Hz.
