Product Description:

The Bosch Rexroth's KDA 3.3-150-3-AY0-W1 modular main spindle drive is designed for operation with INDRAMAT 2AD asynchronous motors. It is also compatible with 1MB frameless spindle motors used in industrial automation. It provides a rated output current of 150 A. An external blower mounted on the heatsink ensures cooling via forced-air ventilation. The drive can endure a persistent current of 90 A.

The DC supply link of KDA 3.3-150-3-AY0-W1 spindle drive is about 300 volts. The blower of the spindle drive functions on a 220-volt, 50–60 Hz electrical source. The unit has a mass of 17.4 kg. It also incorporates a 1.7 kg mounting system and a blower unit of 4.2 kg. The housing accommodates grounding terminals at the top, intended for vertical installation. The interface supports an analog speed command in the range of ±10 volts. An auxiliary encoder connection is included for spindle or secondary motor feedback. It enables improved speed and positioning accuracy. This configuration does not include an auxiliary interface option. The nominal performance is achieved within an ambient temperature range of +5 C to +45 C. It can function at ambient temperatures as high as +55 C, with reduced power output. The enclosure carries a protection class of IP10 in accordance with DIN 40 050 standards.

The control power requirements of the KDA 3.3-150-3-AY0-W1 spindle drive include 1.6 A at a +24-volt load voltage. The thermal management system uses an external heatsink for heat transfer. However, a dedicated blower and air ducting system ensure internal cooling airflow. The drive enables spindle orientation and C-axis operations with compatible feedback equipment. Fault diagnostics are provided through the display or interface. Upon fault detection, the drive engages braking and disconnects power to minimize the risk of uncontrolled motion or equipment damage.
