The KDA 3.1-100-3-LQD-W1 is a spindle drive from Bosch Rexroth. The drive has a modular design with slots for optional modules. A modular design provides flexibility for operators who can install any module to add desired functionality even after the drive has been put into operation. KDA drives have three slots for optional function modules. Operators can include optional modules in the drive order or order the modules later and install them in the field. The primary application of KDA drives is the monitoring and control of 2AD asynchronous and 1MB motors. Multiple KDA drives can be installed in a single enclosure for multi-axis control. An internal microcomputer carries out all digital control functions on the drive. A heatsink is mounted at the rear of the unit and is located outside the enclosure.
A blower installed beneath the heatsink forces cool air through the heat sink to improve the rate of heat dissipation. The main benefit of this design is that the drive enclosure does not require internal cooling systems, which reduces the system cost. KDA 3.1-100-3-LQD-W1 is a drive with 100 Amps output current. Value of the DC bus voltage is 300 Volts. Speed command values are communicated via a high-speed SERCOS serial interface. The drive has an auxiliary encoder module that can receive inputs from a motor encoder with 1 Volt sinusoidal output. The auxiliary interface slot is equipped with a module that can receive 16-bit parallel position command values. The blower on the KDA 3.1-100-3-LQD-W1 drive is rated for 220 Volts AC. Other options for blower power supply are available. Protection class of the spindle drive is IP10, which makes it suitable for indoor use.
