Product Description:

The KDA 3.1-100-3-DQD-U1 spindle drive is made by Bosch Indramat and is designed for use in automated manufacturing. This unit is from Series 3 and has Design 1. The max current it can handle is 100 A, and the DC bus voltage is 300 V. The speed command value comes from an analog input with a range of +/-10 V, which makes sure that the spindle is controlled accurately.

The KDA 3.1-100-3-DQD-U1 main spindle drive has forced cooling, which is done with a fan on the heatsink. The cooling system uses a special heatsink fan that gets its power from an outside AC source. It gets its power from an AC source that is 115 V at 50 to 60 Hz. Within a temperature range of +5°C to +45°C, the drive works consistently. It can handle a high temperature of +55°C for short periods of time. In the month with the most humidity, the usual relative humidity must not be higher than 70%. The drive has an extra port for digital position command values in a parallel 16-bit format. It has an extra encoder input that works with a 1V sinusoidal encoder output as well.

The KDA 3.1-100-3-DQD-U1 main spindle drive has clear requirements that make sure it works reliably. The unit lets you enter both traditional and digital speed and position commands at the same time. The highest point where the installation can be made is 1,000 meters above sea level. The level of protection is IP 10 according to DIN 40 050, which means that solid items bigger than 50 mm can not get through.

Frequently Asked Questions about KDA 3.1-100-3-DQD-U1:

Q: Does KDA 3.1-100-3-DQD-U1 support auxiliary encoder input?

A: Yes, KDA 3.1-100-3-DQD-U1 supports an auxiliary encoder input that accepts a 1V sinusoidal encoder signal. It ensures accurate position feedback and stable drive performance.

Q: Why does KDA 3.1-100-3-DQD-U1 require a forced cooling system?

A: The spindle drive requires forced cooling with a heatsink blower that prevents overheating. The cooling system allows continuous rated operation within the specified temperature range.

Q: How does the KDA 3.1 drive manage ambient temperature limits?

A: The KDA 3.1-100-3-DQD-U1 drive operates reliably between +5°C and +45°C. It tolerates +55°C peak temperature for short durations without affecting structural or functional parameters.

Q: Do relative humidity limits affect KDA 3.1-100-3-DQD-U1 operation?

A: Yes, KDA 3.1-100-3-DQD-U1 requires humidity not exceeding 70 percent during the most humid month. This prevents condensation-related faults and ensures stable electrical insulation.

Q: Why does KDA 3.1-100-3-DQD-U1 specify maximum altitude?

A: The drive specifies a maximum installation elevation of 1,000 meters. Higher altitudes reduce cooling efficiency and may affect rated current handling.
