The KDA 3.1-050-3-DYS-W1 is a configurable main spindle built to provide the intelligent control of Bosch Rexroth Indramat motors belonging to the 2AD asynchronous and 1MB synchronous spindle motor. The operation of this product is unique for its ability to maintain high stiffness, impressive positioning, and accurate operation over a range of motor speeds. In the servo system, it is possible to install and operate this product together with additional drive controllers; however, this does not affect the ability of each drive to be adapted to specific tasks in the servo system. There is a heatsink mounted on the back panel of this product upon its delivery. This heatsink is responsible for eliminating excess heat from the housing of the drive. For efficient temperature regulation, an external air blower should be installed and used with this drive.
The KDA 3.1-050-3-DYS-W1 main spindle drive is able to detect dangerously high temperature levels in the winding of connected motors. It does this by interpreting the feedback it received from the motor thermistor through its thermistor connection interface. When there is a significant risk of overheating, the drive automatically alerts operators or disconnects the motor to prevent major damage. For optimum protection, the KDA 3.1-050-3-DYS-W1 should be installed inside a control cabinet that will provide at least protection that meets the IP54 category. Ambient temperature inside the cabinet should be below 45 degrees Celsius, while humidity should be maintained below 95 per cent.
The KDA 3.1-050-3-DYS-W1 spindle drive features a control panel integrated on it. This panel is made up of a display screen, a keyboard, and two Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs).
