The KDA 3.1-050-3-DYI-U1 is a IP20 main spindle drive produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat to be used with two of its most popular motor series; the 1MB frameless spindle motor and the 2AD asynchronous motor design. This controller is characterized by an impressively high stiffness and the ability to maintain accurate position and motor control, diagnosis, and monitoring operation over a broad speed range. The operation of this controller unit can be easily modified to suit specific industrial requirements. The configuration instructions followed by the unit during its operation are mainly stored on an AS3 programming module, which is delivered with the product and can be easily transferred from one drive to another. A heatsink is integrated at the back panel of this product; this heatsink functions together with an external air blower to ensure that heat produced in this product is easily eliminated without any major issues to the drive itself.
The KDA 3.1-050-3-DYI-U1 frequency converter also provides connected motors with reliable protection against overheating. It does this by interpreting the feedback sent from the thermistor installed inside the motor winding. At the detection of high temperatures, the motor is automatically disconnected. A control panel is present on this controller to provide operators with a user-friendly way to interact with the product. This panel also features a display unit for the quick communication of faults detected during the operation of the product.
The KDA 3.1-050-3-DYI-U1 frequency converter should be used at an ambient temperature that is not higher than 45 degrees Celsius; however, during storage, the temperature surrounding the product can be between -30 to 85 degrees Celsius.
