The KDA 3.1-050-3-DPD-W1 is a spindle drive produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the KDA Spindle Drives series. Within an automated machining cell, the unit converts regulated DC bus power into three-phase spindle currents while accepting digital motion commands from the CNC controller. This lets the drive manage the closed-loop speed and position functions needed for milling heads, lathes, and grinding spindles. Because the drive closes the control loop at the spindle axis, the CNC can command both steady cutting speed and accurate angular positioning when the machine process requires it. Its role is to keep spindle response stable during acceleration, speed changes, and commanded positioning moves.
