Product Description:
The KDA 3.1-050-3-D00-W1 is a powerful and impressive KDA servo drive manufactured and engineered by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for high-performing AC machines. As part of the KDA product series, this module is compatible with Rexroth’s KDV power supply module, CDM, and 2AD motors. Unlike other servo drives available on the market today, this unit employs a heatsink blower that runs on a 220 V AC power supply. During operation, the heatsink blower allows for efficient heat dissipation of the AC spindle drive. Alongside the KDV module, it provides the rotating three-phase power needed by the AC motor.
Aside from their compatibility with other products by Rexroth, KDA servo drives are also desirable for their wide operating range. Typically, KDA servo drives can support a maximum operating speed of 8000 rpm. Specifically, however, the KDA 3.1-050-3-D00-W1 can only support motors with a maximum current rating of 50 A. Like other AC drives, the KDA 3.1-050-3-D00-W1 can operate at a maximum ambient temperature of 55 degrees Celsius. To operate normally, however, it is recommended to keep the ambient temperature below 45 degrees Celsius and the installation altitude at 1000 m above sea level.
During operation, the KDA 3.1-050-3-D00-W1 can safely accommodate a continuous current of 35 A. Based on its official datasheet, it can support AC motors with a rated power of up to 25 HP. Owing to its compact form factor and construction, this AC spindle drive has a net weight of around 17 kilograms. Aside from the KDV and CDM, the KDA 3.1-050-3-D00-W1 may also be connected to an overload detector to prevent damages to the AC spindle motor. For Rexroth’s original motors, the overload detector is typically mounted near the motor’s winding to detect overtemperature.
