It is intended for machine tools and similar equipment that require stable spindle behavior during acceleration, cutting, and speed changes under varying process loads. Closed-loop regulation helps the spindle follow commanded velocity changes accurately, which supports repeatable motion during continuous production. The drive is suited to processes where spindle stability directly affects surface finish and dimensional consistency.
The heat sink blower runs from an auxiliary supply of 220 V/50–60 Hz, so the cooling fan can operate even when the main DC link is de-energized. Heat is removed by a mounted heat sink blower, and airflow is intensified through forced cooling to maintain semiconductor temperatures within limits at continuous load. The separate blower supply also supports airflow during standby periods. The drive operates in ambient air from 5 to 45 °C, allowing use in standard shop-floor conditions without external conditioning. Operation is permitted up to 1000 m above sea level, covering typical plant elevations before derating is required. Parameter setting and diagnostics are available through an RS-232-C serial port for direct connection to a laptop or HMI, which provides access to operating data and setup values. An additional encoder channel accepts spindle or auxiliary motor feedback, allowing phase-synchronous positioning when dual transducers are required.
