Product Description:

The KDA 2.1-150-3-DPS-W1 is one of Rexroth Indramat’s panel-mounted asynchronous drives designed and engineered for large AC induction motors. Due to its construction and optimized software design, this module works best when operated with 2AD Rexroth motors and KDV power supply units. Like other KDA drives, this unit provides the protection functions for the servo motor and supplies the needed power for the machine. Like other panel-mounted drives by Bosch, this product implements forced-air cooling to lower the internal and surface temperature of the module. The built-in cooling system requires a three-phase AC power supply with a terminal voltage of either 115 or 220 V.

During operation, the KDA 2.1-150-3-DPS-W1 keeps track of the motor position or speed via the motor encoder. Depending on the type of motor, the encoder can be of the incremental or digital type. Nonetheless, the KDA drive utilizes the electrical signal from the motor encoder and communicates with the CDM to perform monitoring and control functions. Depending on the system, the motor output may be varied to meet a certain shaft speed or maintain a specific rotor position. Like other KDA drives by Bosch Indramat, this unit requires a grounding point, which is typically connected to the grounding bus of the KDV power supply. The grounding point prevents the drive from accumulating charges in the event of a fault or short-circuit condition.
