Product Description:

The KDA 2.1-100-3-LQI-W1 Spindle Drive is equipped with an active cooling mechanism that employs a heatsink fan to sustain internal heat, especially during heavy loads. This Bosch manufactured spindle drive operates reliably in conditions with a maximum ambient temperature of 55 °Celsius.

This drive’s internal incremental encoder output interface provides accurate speed and position feedback to external controllers for enhanced motion control coordination. Besides the standard output, this drive also has an input for a 1V sinusoidal encoder, allowing high-resolution external feedback integration for closed-loop applications. With a weight of 17.1 kg, the build of the KDA 2.1-100-3-LQI-W1 spindle drive provides mechanical ruggedness and solid mounting in machine frames. For stable mounting, the M1-KD mechanical mounting kit of 1.7 kg is used to provide better support and resistance to vibration. This spindle drive is qualified for use at up to 1000 meters above sea level, above which performance can start to derate. Its compliance with DIN 40 040 humidity class F ensures that it is protected from atmospheric moisture and can be operated in wet environments. The heatsink fan of this drive is powered through a 220V AC power supply at 50–60Hz, ensuring steady airflow and preventing the components from overheating.

By employing the SERCOS interface to control speed, this drive acquires synchronized communication with the automation platforms to ensure accurate control for complex multi-axis installations. The KDA 2.1-100-3-LQI-W1 drive is rated to deliver a continuous current of 100 A, hence ideal for high-torque industrial spindle systems that need constant and strong drive input. For prolonged operations, it provides a steady-state current of 70 A, guaranteeing consistent performance without inducing protective shutdowns or thermal faults. Running at a 300 VDC link voltage, this spindle drive provides stable and efficient power to motors for improved system responsiveness and spindle accuracy.
