In automated machining cells, the unit converts a regulated DC link into three-phase output while also providing encoder interfaces so the numerical control can read actual spindle position and velocity. Because the drive monitors feedback while regulating output current, it can respond quickly to changing spindle demand during cutting cycles. This makes it suitable for machine tools that need repeatable speed control during acceleration, steady cutting, and deceleration.
