Product Description:
The KDA 2.1-100-3-DQD-W1 is a sophisticated drive controller with a slot-based modular design. It’s part of Bosch Rexroth’s KDA series that is designed specifically for control of 1MB and 2AD industrial motors. The controller requires AC input. As the amplitude and frequency of the AC mains are fixed, they can’t be used for motor control. The KDA controller uses a double-conversion process (AC to DC, and DC to AC) to produce AC output for motor control. The controller rectifies the AC input, producing intermediate DC at 300 Volts, before reconverting the DC to AC for output with controllable amplitude and frequency. Parameters of the AC output are determined by control algorithms that run on the microcomputer-based KDA controller. KDA controllers support motor feedback via optional encoder modules. With closed-loop control, the KDA controller transforms into a precision control device that performs accurate motor speed and position control.
There are three slots on each KDA controller. Slot 1 is designated for a speed command module. Slot 2 is designated for an encoder module. Slot 3 is designated for a position command module. Slot 1 on the KDA 2.1-100-3-DQD-W1 controller is occupied by a module that accepts 16-bit parallel digital input. Slot 2 on the controller is occupied by a module that is compatible with 1 Volts sinusoidal encoder signals. Slot 3 on the controller is occupied by a speed command module that is compatible with 16-bit parallel signals. Output rating of the KDA 2.1-100-3-DQD-W1 controller is 100 Amps. KDA controllers feature rear-mounted heat sinks with blowers for forced-air cooling. These blowers can work with different AC systems. The blower on this controller requires 220 Volts AC.
