The KDA 2.1-050-3-DP0-U1 is a spindle drive produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the KDA Spindle Drives series. As a closed-loop power module, it regulates high-speed machine tool spindles by converting rectified DC bus energy into precisely timed three-phase output. The drive communicates with a system controller through a digital parallel bus, providing the fast torque and speed regulation required in industrial automation tasks such as milling and grinding. This arrangement helps the spindle maintain stable response during changing load conditions in continuous machining duty.
The power stage operates from a DC bus of 300 VDC, and it can deliver a continuous output of 50 A to the spindle motor. Speed reference data is accepted as a 16-bit digital parallel word, allowing 65,536 discrete command values for fine velocity resolution. Thermal management is handled by a blower supplied with 115 V at 50/60 Hz, so the cooling fan remains electrically independent of the DC link.
