The HVE03.2-W030L is a power supply unit manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the HVE Power Supply Units series. It is part of series 03 and is built to design version 2. It provides the regulated DC bus energy required by multiple drive controllers and absorbs regenerative power returned during deceleration. By performing these two functions in a single enclosure, the module simplifies cabinet wiring for industrial automation lines that rely on synchronized servo axes and spindle drives.

With a continuous rating of 30 kW, the supply feeds the DC link while drawing only 500 VA at maximum load for its auxiliary circuits. During rapid demand, the bus can deliver 90 kW for 0.3 s or 60 kW for 30 s, enabling short acceleration bursts without a separate booster. The capacitors reach operating voltage in 6 s, and an internal air path with a built-in air blower expels the heat that results from 6 W of loss per delivered kilowatt. A 300 W control-voltage output powers peripheral electronics, while an external capacitor bank up to 100 mF can be added when higher energy storage is required. The unit requires the GLD12 DC-bus choke to attenuate line transients and support smooth regeneration.

Energy that exceeds capacitor storage is dissipated through a brake resistor section rated for 1.5 kW continuously and up to 100 kW in short peaks, allowing the supply to handle emergency stops without external dump resistors. Even when idle, the electronics incur 175 W of basic losses, a figure that helps with enclosure cooling calculations. Up to 100 kWs of regenerated energy can be accepted per cycle before thermal limits are reached. Mechanical integration is straightforward because the housing is 150 mm wide, weighs 16 kg, and mounts beside drives with the airflow of the internal blower left unobstructed.
